De Collaboration for Medical Supplementation of Micronutrients (CMSM) organiseert in juni hun jaarlijkse Ronde Tafel bijeenkomst.

Deze bijeenkomsten hebben als doel om artsen, onderzoekers, patiëntenvertegenwoordigers en medische professionals te informeren over nieuwe ontwikkelingen in het vakgebied, en onderlinge discussie teweeg te brengen.

Dit jaar ligt de focus op Micronutriënten in de ICU.

Prof. Dr. Anitra Carr zal ons inlichten over het nut van Vitamine C op de ICU. 

Prof. Anitra Carr is renowned for her expertise around the roles of vitamin C in human health and disease. Her translational research spans the impact and mechanisms of action of oral and intravenous vitamin C within diverse health conditions such as infection and sepsis, obesity and diabetes, cancer, and subjective mood.
For her outstanding work, Anitra was awarded the University of Otago Christchurch Gold Medal in 2021, and is currently ranked the #1 vitamin C scholar worldwide.

Priv. Doz. Dr. Karin Amrein zal het zelfde doen, maar dan met de focus op Vitamine D. 

Priv. Doz. Dr. Karin Amrein is a specialist in internal medicine and has been working on  vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis, (para)thyroid diseases, diabetes, iron deficiency and iron excess, fertility and menopause, PCOS, pituitary disorders, and other topics. After several years of working in Switzerland and at the University Hospital Graz, she moved into private practice in 2018, while still being active in clinical research. 

De Ronde Tafel bijeenkomst is volledig engelstalig. Wel zal er na de bijeenkomst een nederlandstalige samenvatting beschikbaar zijn.
